stupid 1992 oldsmobile 88 royale.
motor mount on left front is one of the big rubber block glued in between two steel plates deals. rubber is still in good condition, but has removed itself from the steel plate on the engine/trans side.
new mount is $35 and looks like a pain in the ass. on top of that i had them pull a new one off the shelf at advance and it was a chinese piece of crap, with thinner steel than original, and it looked like it would soon fall apart. i'm giving the car away so have no desire to spend any money on it.
it's very clear that i could put a jack under oil pan and lift engine to get an inch or so clearance between rubber and steel. that is enough to clean it thoroughly and get some adhesive in there. question is - is there a suitable adhesive for this purpose?
Use a flexible adhesive, black polyurethane roof flashing sealant would probably do it, or maybe a poly construction adhesive.
Can you just drill thru it and use a bolt and nut to hold it together? It worked on Chevy V8 motor mounts in the 60's..

^this.
that's probably a bigger pain than replacing it from the lack of room in the vicinity.
i thought about welding a chain to both sides to limit movement. it would keep metal on rubber to isolate vibes, and limit the movement that is causing the clunk.
