I'm considering a fox body purchase soon, any idea if three kids can fit in back? We all fit in my Protege5 but its kind of tight even though they don't complain.

I have an SN95 and I refer to my back seat as a "mother in law" seat.
Gonna be tight.
How old of kids?
I was surprised at how much rear seat room my Fox body had. There's definitely room for two kids back there, but I can't remember if there were even three seat belts in back. Three would be tight, but it can be pretty comfortable for two.
10/6/2 years old. I'm really looking for a RWD, manual with enough power to be fun with room for (occasional) 5 with the rear passengers being children. All this for $3,000 or so. Besides the E36, I'm kind of stumped. I'm really not sold on the P71 due to the auto. A manual is kind of important.
I've never had my kids in the back of my current Fox yet, but back in the day when I had a new 89 5.0 hatch and then a 92 5.0 ragtop, I suspect I might have fathered a child or two back there
I believe it is intended for just two in back, preferably double amputees or really short people.
Edit: I did have an 03 Mustang and did have 4 people in it a couple times. No one wanted to ride in the back, just not comfortable for anything more than short trips.
I have two child seats in the back of my Mark VII which is just a Fox with a longer wheel base. There are 3 seat belts but unless the third person is VERY thin they're not going to fit.
I'll snap a pic, BRB.
Both seats are Graco Nautilus so they're massive, but with you having one rear facing (I assume) and one forward it should be pretty similar.
He's 5 and weighs a bit over 40lbs.
Also, if you're going to use a booster for the 6 year old make sure the car has lap and shoulder belts. The Lincoln only has lap belts but they ratchet so they work with child seats that have harnesses.
How about an older 5 series or Volvo?
Hm... What are you calling a "Fox Body"? A Fairmont wagon will fit the kiddies just fine, some came with stick shifts (and autos aren't terribly hard to convert) and most Mustang bits will fit.
I don't think I've ever seen a Fox body that hadn't been gutted as a track car.
Maybe I haven't been looking hard enough.

If you get the fairmont then you will have plenty of room!

Now there's a thought!
Volvo 7-series with the turbo motor isn't a bad deal all things considered.
RWD with enough power to be fun AND a manual... There goes the Fairmont! (I'm not in a position to do an auto to manual swap at the moment.
Should this thread title be changed to "what RWD, manual with fun power levels and seats 5 for under $3k"?
I'd be looking at 240/740/940 turbo Volvo's. Or an E30 type 325i.
The problem is the manual and not wanting to do a swap. If you were okay with that, you'd have a ton of options, but I completely understand not having much interest in doing so.
i don't think i've ever seen the words "Fox body" and "seats 5" in the same sentence... i know a Mustang isn't set up for that, and any of the deriviatives won't work for that many people unless the ones in the back have tiny or non existent legs..
that being said, i had 9 people in my mom's 86 Mustang hatchback one time... that was fun...
In reply to novaderrik:
LTD II is a Fox that would seat five people better than a Mustang. There's a ton of Fox derivative vehicles to pick from, this probably being the largest.
