A kid I know here in town put a chevy straight 6 in an old tractor a couple years ago. It was apparently a bolt-in. It almost threw him off backwards when he opened it up. Steering & brakes were not up to the task.
That poor farmall..
You'd think they'd put it in a Ford 8N or something.
An IH 392 belongs in a farmall.

Here is a v8 in a ford 8n:
A Keiser, from the factory.
And here is a proper famall. My father's with my son "driving":
here is my Father's ( 4 cyl) Ford 8N:
We had 5 tractors at the show, but more at the barn, including a Minniapolis Moline.
There are a few around here that have V8s in them including a John Deere with a BBC in is. My favorite one to listen to is the Oliver (I think) with the 8-71 Detroit 2 cycle in it. I see them at the antique tractor shows. Next local show is in Sept. I'm looking forward to it.
We had an 8N exactly like the one in the pics when I was a kid. I learned how to drive on it and I still remember the backwards shift pattern.
