So my fuel line popped off right here... Ok to clamp?

It pops off every time the fuel pump switches on.

clamp it.

Keep an eye on it.

Is your return line clogged? Is your tank holding pressure for some reason?

Carry a fire extinguisher.

That type of line shouldn't need a clamp. Might help temporarily to get it one the road but it will likely cause more damage in the near future.

I'd recommend a new line altogether if you're not in an emergency roadside situation. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to leaky, pressurized fuel lines.

Just what I was thinking, Bryce.

Wish I could tell you, VW. Salvage engine and return should be fine. The line was VERY loose. I may have actually yanked the line clean off. Very clean off...

Fuel is now getting to the engine, but leaking like crazy. I'll try lowering the clamp, but do I need to swap the fuel rails if it doesn't work?

So yea. That line is berkeleyed. The inner plastic line was pressurized out. No fuel return pushed pressure high enough to do that. Guess I'll take the fuel rail off the old engine and swap. Any other ideas?

Cut off, drill out, tap, AN fitting and line?

I just pulled off the rail and started putting in the new one. Got stupid and berkeleyed up a tap on the lower manifold.

After this work I FINALLY berkeleying find a goddamn motherberkeleying nose from the old fuel injector. After I was pissed enough to realize I misplaced most my tools I decided it was time to stop for the night.

The old fuel rail and injectors are one hell of an upgrade. Should have done it before the swap. As you can see, the nose is missing off of injector number three. I don't know where injector four went...

Oh... and the berkeleying quick disconnect has been taking a very long time to disconnect. Hopefully tomorrow when it is dry, it will berkeleying disconnect.
