As a promo for the new Cayenne, Porsche cut up 60 meters of guardrail from their Leipzig test track and are sending them out for free, hopefully mounted on a nice plaque. I just did, gonna hang it in the office. Says takes 4-6 weeks for delivery. Its all free too!

I got a flyer for that the other day - and promo for the new cayenne. Ordered my chunk of guard rail - could care less about the cayenne though.
There's another promo out from mini. They're setting up a course - autocross-ish and letting people flog them in a few cities (chicago, dallas, atlanta...)
I signed up for mine!
OT- I also got my save the manuals button and sticker in the mail. Cheap, but amusing.
I picked up a nice piece of concrete patch from the last Solo Nats at Forbes Field. It even has three different colors of paint used for cone placement.
It was free, too, except it's not tainted by Cayenne proximity. Now, if that guard rail section was related to a real Porsche (say, a Cayman S) we'd be talking a different story.
I signed up and indicated that I might be interested in a Certified Pre Owned Cayman S.
Hopefully, I will be pestered by dealers trying to get me in for a test drive.
Did anybody ever get their piece of the guard rail? I haven't seen mine nor did I ever see the free Boxster Spyder poster. Maybe they know I can't afford anything on their lot!
not yet. Ive heard if you call the US Headquarters, they will get the process going faster for you. Havent done that yet...
Got one about a month ago. Then got a second one last week along with lots of promo e-mails about the cayenne - which might be somewhere towards the lower end of the top 500 cars I'd like to own.
haven't gotten mine yet either. in fact, i had completely forgotten i'd asked for one.
i imagine it'll be like that gates belt wear checker, once i get it i'll be wondering wth i'm going to do with it now that its here.
Mine actually just came in the mail yesterday. There was a big thread on vwvortex where ~50 people had just gotten theirs. It's a great piece!
This isn't my pic, but here is what it looks like. Aluminum base with a magnet to hold the piece of the railing on it. I've got it on my fridge now.
Yes, but, then I've still got a piece of the esses at the tragically defunct Riverside International Raceway that I dug out on the day of my last race there.
You'll need to log in to post.
