The BMW Long Beach Blue would be my pick. It somehow seems like it could have been an OEM color on that car.

Like I said previously, my thoughts are that a lighter color shows the curves of the car better than a darker one. It allows shadows to show the depth.

I was back and forth a long time over if I liked/wanted to do the "ABC front spoiler"

Might pair well with the S281 wing without giving up the Cobra look.

What about taking base color and accent color queues from the Viper ACR. I believe this is competition blue with black stripes, but dark blue (almost black) stripes could be a nice touch:

This is what he was trying to link. Not bad, but maybe just a bit dark.

Great suggestions! Definitely a few I never thought of that look really good. This is a lot tougher than I thought...

I'm not a Ford or Mustang guy but I saw this today and it caught my eye as a nice blue.

Everybody's forgetting the best one:

But what I really recommend is going into a game like Forza and changing it to get the colour you like. Turns out Rebel Blue would look horrible on my E36.

Sonic Blue is much brighter in sunlight and is one of my favorite colors:

Blues to me are rarely attractive without a strong accent color. That one stands on its own. It has my vote.

What about British Racing Green, even if just for the obscure Premier Automotive Group and DEW -> D2C references).

I called Hagerty and asked for $10,000, and they agreed after seeing photos. I have since upped it to $11,500 now that the paint is nicer.

On the color front I've always been partial to Sapphire Blue. It leans to the violet side of blue, and I love it. I even have a pint can of it I got when my dad worked at a Ford body shop in the 90's, I had a Revell Mustang Cobra model kit I wanted to paint that color.

Yup. Think about how much money you'd need to receive to feel better if you suffered a total loss and then see if the insurance company is willing to cover it for that much and if you're willing to pay the premium. In my experience Hagerty has always thought my cars were worth more than I did and the premiums have been less than I expected.

I like the GM code 29 blue from the mid 70s. With modern water born paint I would be much brighter.

Thanks. My son and I are going to talk to Hagerty this winter about changing over. I am thinking about $8,000 as an initial agreed value for a nearly stock, very good condition 97 with 66,000 miles.

Thanks for your input. I am quite sure I will sleep better once I get an agreed value policy.
