So after all this talk of road-tripping on the forums, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and do something crazy. My friend and I are driving from Kelowna to Seattle. And then to San Francisco. And eventually to NYC. And back. Why? To discover America through fast food, and to meet as many of my cool internet friends as possible. The car?
Okay, so I haven't got that far yet. But I am going to look at a C1500 that seems promising. This is either the dumbest idea I have ever had, or the greatest idea I have ever had.
Start small. Call me when you are coming through Kelso, WA and we'll do lunch.

Added to the spreadsheet!
If you head north into ct, there's a few of us that can meet up..
Burlington Vermont for Al's Frys.
Check in when you get to NYC.
Be sure to get white castle.

That's actually the purpose of the trip.
We here in Baltimore have this local delicacy known as pit beef that you'll have to come try. It's pretty much thinly sliced lean roast beef that's been seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked on a closed grill (55 drum) commonly served with horseradish, sliced onion and BBQ sauce on a kaiser roll. And lake trout that isn't actually lake trout and crab cakes of course. Come hungry.

Awesome plan!
Be sure to post once you have a route in mind. I'm not sure I'll be on your way - and depending on when and where you're passing through from west-to-east I may be in either IL or MS at that time - but I'd be glad to meet up for a burger!

I'm probably passing through both states, so it might actually work!
Will you be travelling through NC? I'd be happy to meet up for a taco or several
stop here in cleveland, we'll get a couple of the locals together and hit something like happy dog for killer hot dogs or b-spot for michael symon burgers. chances are you'll be coming right through on 80 on the way to NYC. and if you get a c1500 of the 88-98 vintage you'll probably go home with some parts.

Sounds good! I'll stop by.

Excellent! Hit me up when you're coming through!
What's your timeline on heading out? Sounds like you'll Probably be staying north, but I'll either be in Atlanta or Greenville and am up for something!
You have to hit Skin's Hotdogs in Anderson, SC. Only the original location will do.

If you come through Jacksonville, FL I know of a good taco place.

Unfortunately, Atlanta is a bit too far south for this trip.
If you venture through Chicago I'll show you a place where you can eat an Italian Beef in a cinder block hut on discarded school desks and a place where you order BBQ through inch thick bulletproof glass. Or some ridiculously good tacos or burgers, but those are less interesting.
