Width + arm space.

When I sat in the green car at Exomotive, my left arm was against the outside bar and it's uncomfortable. Part of the problem is less space, and part of the problem is that I'm a fat bastard. As I recall, I think the seat was probably a Kirkey Intermediate Road Race seat. Those seats have shoulder supports, and I think those supports can be a little wide in a Miata anyway. People have commented about the shoulder wing interfering with Miata doors. With that seat in the green car, I think the shoulder wing was actually out over the side bar. I had a picture of this but I've lost it. Still, I was against the bar and it was hard to picture not being against it. I would be using a 16" seat in either the Kirkey, or the Ultrashield Rally Sport / Spec Miata seats. I'm nowhere near "all the way back" in a Miata, so what Warren is saying means I should be able to get space.
Something others may be interested in... Track Dog Racing offers an Ultra Shield Rally Sport seat that they claim is custom made for them by Ultra Shield for the Miata. They claim improved clearance for roll bars and the Miata doors.

I had a US Spec Miata seat and the layback is very comfortable. I thought the seating position was perfect. One drawback to the SM seat is the side support in that it makes it a little more difficult to get into the car in a Spec Miata. Either way, you're climbing in and out of this car so it wouldn't be much of a consideration for me in the application.
I put some 15x8 et 25 wheels (Konig flat outs) on today as my streets with 205 bfg rivals. Should I run 25 mm spacers? I'm having spacers with hubsentric spacers made 1 piece.
I ordered your wheels for track.
This post might help those of you with issues with seat fitment (for us big / tall guys).

So, did the tunnel mods allow you to move the seat far enough in so your arm is off the bar? How is the overall alignment now between the seat, steering wheel, and pedals?
Thanks.

I've not been able to personally sit in the car yet but my mechanic has told me that the seat fits well and moves me inboard and away from the cage. I'd go check it out but the shop is about 4 1/2 hours from me. I'm hoping next week to sit in it when it's done (so I can go pick it up). When I do we'll go over any adjustments to pedals and steering column as well and I'll post up a lot of pics. Right now I'm dependent upon what photos I get from the shop.
I have a question on licensing these, especially in California. Have you had any customers that have gone through the process successfully and did they have to have windshield and wipers? I am not interested in people half way through the process. The last (and toughest) step is the BAR inspection, just prior to final DMV registration and license issuance. Also for people who have done it in the last few months since it seems that the process has gotten stricter.
With an sb100, it should be pretty easy. We've had Westfield customers go through with no issues. They have windshields, though.

As with every aftermarket company, we can't possibly hope to keep up-to-date with every regional law and registration process. Even GA just changed a few things about taxable value, and the law is vague enough that we won't know the true effect until a car is registered after it goes into effect (I suspect it will become easier and cheaper, but it's very vague and open to practical interpretation).
As such, giving registration guidelines puts us in a tricky legal and moral spot.
Ultimately, researching the registration process is up to the customer. The sema action network titling guide is a good resource, but the ultimate resource is your local DMV/DDS office. You will not be the first to register an assembled vehicle, and someone there will be able to guide you on the process. If not, ask who you can contact.

I have been making fiberglass and composite parts for a while and have been wanting to add something new to the ones I already make. Is there someone in the Atlanta area that has one of these wings that I can look at?
Thanks, Scott
No on Friday, at least for me. Most of us are going to Carlisle, PA for the Import and Kit Nationals. We get back Tuesday.

My compliments to the Chef. MIG? That's no joke.

Will the cars at Carlisle have the new bodywork?
That picture about sums it up.
We're close with the pre-production bodywork. I'm pretty confident we'll have something to show off. I've been getting good use out of my air mattress and found a really nice shower in our building. The spice must flow.

Have a look through some of these links on the cobra forums and the SEMA link below. There may be some tips that help you.

A battery option you guys may be interested in - Odyssey PC680. I used this battery in my FFR Roadster starting a 10:1 motor. It is tiny and has a lot of power. There is a hold down available (look on eBay) that allows you to put it against a rear bulkhead. It can be upright or on its side. Very versatile.
It's about the same price as a standard Miata battery and lasted for the 5 years I had the roadster. Probably still going strong.

They got their shipment yesterday. Pretty quick progress. Kinda cool to know that between the UK, US, and Oz, Exocets are being built around the clock.
Also, I like my new PVA gun. Lots:
