I went back today for another look. Still nobody home, and my contact info was where I'd left it.
I think I'm ready to proclaim this to be a TR3 or early TR3A. It has front disc brakes (versus the drums of the TR2 and early TR3), but doesn't seem to have the raised stampings below the bonnet hinges (post-mid-1959 TR3A/TR3B), though I'm not sure exactly what those would look like.
Alas...no numbers.
Looks like it was a " title donor " for someone's resto. Also, that wire wheel looks pretty nice.
The front clip is worth some money.
I don’t actually have this, but I do own it.
I’ve had knockoffs of things before, but this is the first time I’ve had a thing with knockoffs.

I've been sending out spare "knock-offs" ( I got with my TR4 ) to each of my victims for the New Years game. Do you want one?

So what's the story on acquiring it? Back story on the car? I feel like I'm missing something important in my life until I know.

Yes please!
Honestly, I’ve always been jealous of those guys.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
No back story. The deal was done earlier this evening. I just need to go pick it up in a day or so. It's exactly ten miles from my house.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
Maybe I should have said, “While I don’t actually have custody of this yet, I am officially the new owner”.
In reply to Woody :
PM me your address and it'll be heading your way.
In reply to Woody :
Is there a gas station in those 10 miles? Cause you know you have to take a picture in one.

Actually, no. There’s a grass airstrip and some cows.
In reply to Woody :
Congrats! Did you get any history on it?
I have a complete TR3 rolling chassis sitting n my driveway that you can have for free if you want it.

I’m pretty sure that I’m the one who directed you to that particular chassis!
I don’t really need another, but you have a title for it?
I thought today was going to be the day that I would go a drag this pile home, but I just managed to get some trailer maintenance done and get some supplies ready. It is exactly ten miles from my house, so it should be a pretty quick run there and back. Hopefully tomorrow.
So, other than be neat, whats the plan? Im hoping for some hacked up special type of what if vintage race car for the street.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael (Forum Supporter) :
No solid plan yet, but I have some ideas.
Tomorrow looks promising.

I really need to get this home and give it a full assessment before making any decisions. I'm pretty sure that the cowl will be going away asap though.
I need some TR3 pieces for the '59 I'm currently working on. Let me know what parts are surplus to your needs.
In reply to Apis Mellifera :
What do you need?

I have just a few left-over TR3 parts, including some tools and pre-TS60000 windshield stanchions. Rear lenses I have are for an early TR3. Let me know if you can't get to the photos filed here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_RHUGrO4ZoTMmx2aDlCRzZaNWc?usp=sharing
