So my long time friend just shot me message about selling his parents 1990 300zx. It's a low miles, N/A, 5-speed, T-Top car in Charcoal Gray Metallic.
He asked where the best place to sell it would be. I'm going to throw Craigslist at him, but is there any other sites he could post it up on without having to join a forum?
Here would be good. What is the asking price?
eBay seems to have some pretty good prices for sellers of low mileage clean examples. Sold listings indicate it would probably sell at nice price.
Find the local z-car club nearest whatever city the car is in.
Near Chicago...?

Well, your mileage may vary. Our Z Car Club seems to have a pretty good track record of matching up deals. The less mainstream the car, they better they do.

Post a question here and find a guy like me that may be interested
Where is the car located?
Why is joining a forum such a hassle? FWIW, I would post it on here, twinturbo.net, and 300zxclub.com.

Illinois, about 50 miles south of Chicago.

Because it is. Datsun1500 is pretty much spot on in regards to that. I've done it several times and it's a joke. I have never been able to sell a car on a make specific board, I've had more luck with Craiglist.
People either comment that they have seen better cars for the price and nitpick the E36 M3 out of it or tell you they're interested and fall off the face of the Earth.
Also, I'm not selling the car, my buddy is either doing it for his parents or they are doing it themselves. Telling them to join a forum is going to be out of their realm.

because when you join just to sell something they jump down your throat.

Yeah, that too. I've had that happen to me before.

Never seen this and even if they did it doesn't matter. Ignore them. The fact you don't post there is all the more reason to not care.

Me, too. When I sold my SSP Mustang I had some regular on the SSP forum claim he "knew the car" and there were issues with it. I had to go through a lot of effort to disprove what he said, but the damage was done.
Eh, the really nice thing about tt.net is that you can't reply to the classified ads. You do have to be a member and have a certain number of hits (unique page loads on the site) to post, but it is one of the better forums around. I wasted many hours there between 2002-2008 when I owned Zs that ran.
