Hello,
I've just purchased a 84 Mazda GLC Hatchback 1.5L 5spd.
As one might expect of car of this age, it needs some fixing up. Its been sitting for awhile. I wondering if gurus of GRM can point me to any resources.
I was going to start with some maintenance manuals I found off of ebay.
Thank you.
Were they still rear wheel drive in 84? I saw one with a rotary swap once.

Its front wheel drive. It was Mazdas first front engine front wheel drive compact vehicle according to wiki.
I had one of those. It was my very first new car and the first car I ever autocrossed. It handled pretty well, a bit on the tail-happy side, but only had 68 hp. 0-60 in one afternoon.

cool wheels....
are those stock wheels? aftermarket?
Aftermarket. I think they were Enkies, if I remember right. I sold the car over 26 years ago - my memory doesn't extend quite that far.
I raced one in SCCA Improved Touring C for half a minute, and Amos Johnson ran them in IMSA RS for awhile. Little cars handle great, especially if you can find stiffer bushings. It's just hard to get them to go fast enough. Even Amos couldn't get much out of them.
The one I drove sheared a balljoint at Charlotte. Sure wish my partner had let me know it used to be a rally car, I would have replaced a bunch of stuff.
My godfather had one with a 13b turbo in it. It used to break wheelie bars all the time LOL
