Bumping this thread to add my own Toyota parts supply woes. I recently bought a 2006 Tundra Double Cab. I can't get OEM floor mats -- discontinued.

Anyone here work for a Toyota dealer? If so, is there a way to check inventory that is sitting at the dealers vs at the distribution center?

I know it's trivial, but now that I'm being told I can't buy them, I REALLY want them. Supply and demand and all.

I'd call to double check but it lets you proceed through checkout.

No, that's the "forbidden fruit effect" - when you really want one particular thing because you can't have it, even though there are plenty of other options. See also: Why rich Americans can't get enough of Cuban cigars.

Thanks -- Been down that route with another online dealer and had it refunded a couple days later. I will call them to verify though.

Hoping someone has worked at a Toyota parts department could verify whether dealers can see other dealer parts inventory. If they can only see the supply depot but not dealer inventory, then it might be worth a telemarketing campaign.
