What an shiny happy person. Any good CL surfer or GRMer goes right to the pictures then read if it's still interesting.

"i kniow what its worth so no loballin" is all you need.
I though you had just gotten this car. Looks great.
Jerry From LA wrote: Also, did Chrysler still off the 340 in '73 or did they move up to the 360 by then?
The 340 still existed, but it was a husk of its former glory. Might have even had a cast crank in '73 but I'm not 100% on that.
Yes,
It's a cast crank in 1973. The worse thing that happened was the lowered compression. Other than that, You can still make the HP from it. By that point though, It was basically just like the 360 only 20 cubes less.

Does that mean he won't take my offer of $2,500? Drat.
That's too bad, since I don't actually have enough spare cash to offer him a fair price. On that note, with a baby coming, I don't have any spare cash...

I can't get over the stupid offers people make to trade. I've had my truck listed for a few months, I've been offered trades of everything from dirt bikes to paintball gear.

I still like the guy that offered me 200 on my 350$ prism. I told him no, fixed it out of spite ( needed a starter and I was lazy), drove it and said its for sale again. Now its 1000$. Because why not.
I had one dude make me an offer once, I had listed the price and then put "OBO" then when I turned him down he called back later. He asked if I had received any offers higher than his, when I said no, he demanded, literally demanded that I sell the car to him!
OP, you're getting better. I only had to read to the 2nd paragraph of this thread to figure out it was a slant 6.
BTW, that's a great looking car.

It is a really nice car. Looks like a fun toy.
The angry guy is a dope. Yea a '69 Swinger was a stripped down 340 GTS. Starting in '70's it was a trim level. The 340 was only available in a Swinger in '69 & 70. In '71-72 in an A-body Dodge, you needed to get it in a Demon. '73 a Dart Sport.
Your '73 is a nice one. Sorry you are selling it. Sorry I can't "swing" it right now.
yeah, i posted a full size truck with running engine for $300 and mentioned it would scrap for more but i was pressed for time.
some guy emailed me and said "scrap is down, you'd be lucky to get half that, but you already know that"
so i took it in myself and get pretty much exactly what i thought it would bring.

That's when you sell the car at his price but list 6x the price on the title so he has to pay a silly amount of tax on it.

That's even better than the guy that listed his car as $xxx OBO. When I offered slightly less he said "price is firm".
In reply to Rob_Mopar:
I was going to say, wasn't the Swinger the 2 door hardtop after a certain year? Just a trim level?
That guy should get an email back saying that the car is a Swinger, not a Swinger 340.
Great looking car. Don't sweat the email. Reading is strenuous for idiots. He was probably just exhausted and cranky by the third paragraph.

I think I got the joke here.
I wish I had the money for that car. It is nice.

So I write what I feel is a pretty good add for the 1973 Dodge Dart that I am selling. I was detailed about the cars condition, mileage, how it runs etc.... I included 12 good pictures of the car and have 70 more available on my photobucket account.
Be glad your interaction was limited to email. I've had 5 people come look at my RSX, tell me what amazing shape it's in, then offer me $3000 less than I'm asking. My ad says that I'm firm on the price. That's over 5 hours of my time wasted.

I'd be willing to wager that 10-20% of c-listers don't know what OBO means and just think it's a thing you write after the price when you sell a car.

That too, technically the guy plance was talking about knew what it meant exactly and was trolling him for it.
Have you done any accurate checks on what kink of mileage that car gets?
Also, does it have the stock carb.?
Lowball offers by people who haven't even seen the item tick me off so much that my standard reply is "sure, I'll take 40% of my asking price, if you get here with cash in the next half hour."
Nearly as annoying is the old "I have to drive 3 hours to get there, can't you drop the price for me?" schtick. Same answer works for them too.
