Congrats dude! I wasn't sure "the porsche expert" would ever actually get one.
I honestly wasn't actively searching for one, but it kinda fell into my lap. The deal was so good I couldn't pass it up.
It will probably be for sale in a few years though, as I do want to get an early 912. (If the money really gets flowing, or they depreciate like a stone, I would love to find an RS America 964 as well.)
Uh, yeah a RS America would be sweet indeed. Gonna start a collection now Mr. I-know-everything-about-porsches-and-think-they're-ridiculous-but-I'll-buy-one-anyway? hehe
Keep me in mind if/when you decide to pass the '44 along, as you know I still harbor ill-advised lust for those things, despite my experiences with 80's sports cars.

Shenanigans. I know a guy who got a Porsche 944 for that!

LOL! Here in Ohio, anything that runs is automatically 1000 dollars. If it isn't rusty, it's 3000. This SL2 is the perfect winter beater. Swap in a stick and throw it on some rally tires (I also happen to have a set of those I could sell...) and it would be a national contender for M2 with the right driver.
I had the same car in silver as well as a burgundy one. I also prefer the early interior. First time I took my wife out in it I went through a car wash and we had to go home and change afterwards. Sunroof was a little leaky, she has never driven with me in one of my spare cars since.
I'm thinking I may take another look at the ones here in town.

Well, I guess I can cry myself to sleep tonight...
