It rides like E36 M3 because full on Street Modified suspension. It'll drive like E36 M3 on the street because huge cams, ITBs, and 7lb flywheel.
add solid motor mounts and that sounds like the perfect bomb around in fun to drive and cruise setup to me.
Yep. Has 98duro mounts, but KLs are usually fairly smooth. Ish.
This is a hell of a buzz bomb, though.

I mean, I'm biased, but what about an E30?
SWMBO wants an E30 quite badly as well.
But i'm unsure if i want yet another 80s car in the stable.
why not?
OWN ALL THE BOXES!
It's not a styling thing... it's a modern thing, which i know sounds stupid in light of the classic Japanese conversation going on, but hey, that's how it is.
Come get my 944 Turbo S and drive it back. Ill buy the beer and wings. It can be both a scalpel and a sledge hammer, plus hatchback allows hauling of stuff, removable sunroof makes for nice summer cruising, most of the maintenance has been done already. Just drive it.

I don't really want another turbo car, much as i'd love to help you out.
BTW: I totally forgot what your original username was until now.

Indeed, and when he blows the engine, there is a shop local to us that knows what to do with them.

berkeley that, i know what to do to it. I have a few spare F2Ts and a complete B2600 transmission in the garage.
LS-x RX8?
Wait.... this: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/open-classifieds/two-flyin-miata-built-v8-cars-for-sale/95474/page1/
How about a 1988 MX-6 GT?

I was waiting for you to chime in.

I say RX-8 if it is going to be a fun weekend car that you drive at the limit. That's where it shines. Make sure to avoid the sunroof if you are tall as the headroom is horrible with a sunroof. I owned an RX-8 for a few years and it's great as a fun car, not great as a daily driver.
I've driven an MR-S at our local autocross. Reminds me of driving a Miata. It's easy to drive, but IMO too similar to the Miata, I would just save my money and get a 1.8 Miata rather than the MR-S.
When i say "MR-S," there's a high chance that it would have a 6spd/2zz motor swap.
Okay, if we're just going to be random, then RX-8, only with an LS3 swap.
EDIT: Just noticed the LSx posts above.

I think you should buy another Miata, stick all your parts on it, get bored in a year and sell it, and finish the whole early miata thing out once and for all.
If you dont, you'll be including early miatas on your 'what car' scenarios basically forever!

Hey this is MY list, i get to put what i want on it.
The point was that in budget, a 2zz/6spd MRS is a reality.
LSx RX8 is most definitely not. For that matter, it's not looking like i'll be able to get an 09-12 RX8 in budget anyways, and i'm really not interested in an 04-08.

I think I would pass on the 04-08 RX8 as well having owned an 05. Not that it was a bad car. I had the Shinka edition which I liked overall as it had a nice parchment leather interior and that black cherry mica exterior color and that made it a little more unique. I just like the little improvements they made later to the car.
That's exactly where i'm at with it. If the 09-12 didn't exist, i'd probably be happy with an 04-08, but the 09+ seems to be more reliable, and it certainly feels better.
Speaking of Shinka.

Yeah, the 05 is a different color than that. More black with a hint of red in the color and the interior is full leather. I'd also buy a newer one because that 100k 8yr engine warranty could come in handy.
Regarding the ad, the car doesn't need a short throw shifter IMO.

there's a place called "Tip A Canoe"? sweet.
is that where we send them from here?
I'm just trying to help make the connection but in this thread, Jeremy talks of selling his MR2 Spyder.
Should be a rust free, Florida example. He is where the Q45 Challenge car came from and I would recommend buying from.

I know Jeremy.
I forgot he had a second one, i figured he sold that other one awhile back. Hrmmmm...

The seller posted in the Ohio Miata Owner's Facebook page that he was looking for $6-7k depending on what parts stayed on the car.

This could fall under my "NB1" option. I've thought about this.
Remove turbo parts and sell, remove MSM specific interior stuff and sell.
Install megasquirt and a Racing Beat header. Have the feeling of the NB1 that i like because BP4W, but the better looks of the MSM.

Do this and document it well. (I want one too)
