Bob Wollek. Whacked in the back of the head by a truck mirror while riding near Sebring.

So sorry to hear about Nicky. A great motorcycle racer.

Yup, pretty much the whole motorcycle roadracing world mourning his passing. And this is a huge loss to US roadracing community.

We could see it coming but doesn't make it easier. Really sad!

I don't know why but if he had died while racing I don't think it would feel like this does.

I feel like we were robbed.

My thoughts are with his family and fiancée.

Once again I'm left to wonder why any locality anywhere deems it illegal for bicyclists to mix it up with pedestrians on sidewalks but have no qualms about letting them get punted around by multi-ton automobiles on roads. Every time i see a bicyclist on the street with me i wish they were on a sidewalk instead.

I'm not sure why I feel loss at the untimely death of someone I never met but... he was such a personable guy with such a wide appeal that I couldn't help being a fan.

I watched him climb the ladder and win, win and struggle and win and struggle and not win and never really be caught up in it like a rock star. He seemed like a grounded guy from anytown USA whether he really was or not.

RIP #69 Kentucky Kid. May everyone live as fast and go as quickly.

This... He did it with class. I was a fan back when I was 20 years old and riding a beat up 900RR and when he won the championship and Honda put him on the then new RC-51... Yeah. Dude never let it get to his head.
