Actually two of them. What say you?
Clickie the Linkie to Biggie Size it.
By "gasket(s)" do you mean "dude(s)"?
Also the parts in that picture appear as if they have been breached.
So.....
I have already put it back together with new gaskets. Can I still swap in some studs one at a time, or do I need to pull the heads off and do it again?
(or just wait six more months, and do it then....)

Oh my! I've seen that recent news story, but it's too graphic to post a link here.
Here's how bad my cars have been: that doesn't look to bad. There are no tears between cylinders...I mean you can still identify 8 distinct holes.

Yeah, I was gonna say that's not too bad. Sure... they are leaking but its still THERE.The ones that came off the vette.... well that was another story.

Where's the fun in that?
Did these gaskets come out of your Silverado?
Aye, they did. Excessive white, lingering, exhaust. Cannot keep coolant in rad and it does not get drawn back from overflow (I've checked and replaced the cap, inspected for leaks/cracks elsewhere, nothing). I noticed after fueling it up on Monday, on restart there was quite a LOT of white smoke. So - Monday night I pulled the heads and did the gaskets again.
Things seem a lot better. Coolant level seems a bit happier, but I'll check and see tomorrow morning how it did today. It certainly is no longer blowing coolant out the overflow. I'm guessing the heads are probably not cracked, otherwise I would not see improvement.
I had pulled this apart right after supper on Monday, and had it back together and running by 4am. Needed the truck to get to work...
I ordered head studs this morning on the way in.
True - at least the head gaskets are still ~there~, but I already suspected it was a problem. No need to wait until it was the coffee milk goodness of death.

I like the turbo Buicks that blow the gasket out with a chunk so big that it stays lodged between the pushrods and the block.
Odd that it's never on the exhaust side. It's almost as if detonation occurs far away from the spark plug, where the heat and compression of the expanding flamefront cause the end gases to spontaneously explode.
