i'll bring a challenge car!
come to ITR expo at autobahn country club this weekend! A bunch of us will be there.
I'm in for whatever as long as I'm in town, and as long as I'm not working--which usually means anytime after 4-8PM--Caddying is an unpredictable business.
I'm only 20, so the bar thing wouldn't work for me, but I could still go and shoot the shinola.
7/6, 7:30pm at The Ram in Schaumburg. I posted it to the calendar so if Tom approves of us meeting, it'll show up! :)
They have good food in addition to wicked awesome microbrew, so you'll still have fun, Mike!
And the restaurant right down the street from IKEA, which is convenient in case anyone needs shelving or frozen Swedish meatballs.
Volo is having a George Barris wekend on the 3rd. Sounds cool. http://www.volocars.com/news/george-barris-show.htm
A junktard crawl would be tits. RT 14 is getting old. I need to see new tin.
I didn't know who George Barris is. I had to look him up. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Bleh.
Also, I was thinking of heading down to Summit this weekend, if they are open during the holiday. You're just a smidge north of me, Appleseed, so we could carpool if you want to go, too.
The meetup is on the calendar and I have corrected the date.
Tues 06 July 2010, Chicago area beer night/get together - The Ram, Schaumburg, IL
BE THERE!
it sucks i would love to show up, but by the time i get off work and anywhere it would around 9pm or later deopending on how nuts we are....
july 18th in belvideer at the fair grouns is a big mopar show that i will attanding as the photo guy if anyone wants to get out of the house for something to do i might be looking for help with a booth if anyone wants to see the show and get dinnner out of it.
Well nobody has signed up yet. I can change the date if we have one that will work for everyone.
I don't know about that car show... I am powerfully ambivalent about them. I went to a Chicagoland Mopar Connection club meeting and was... underwhelmed. I brought my car, and there was only one other guy that did. Then all they talked about was shows, and when I asked about maybe doing a tour or something, I was told they weren't insured to do "moving events" and nobody had ever asked before.
That REALLY hit home that car shows aren't for me. I usually determine the amount of fun I have with my car by how dirty it gets, not how clean I can make it. Competitive parking... not my bag, baby.

I agree with you here.
I'm honestly not sure that I will be in town. If I am, I'll be there, but I haven't made plans for the weekend yet, and I'm not going to until late Saturday. Ah, the life of a caddy:)
The one in Belvidere is the Neon homecoming. Lots of stuff we like, not just over restored MoPars. I'm totally down for that.

No can do. Challenge car workday/nights today and tomorrow down at redzcstandardhatch's place.
And I have to fix miata first also... Came home from the track like this, this weekend.
Yeah, if it's just you and me I am sure we would have a better time heading over one anothers' garages instead of a restaurant :)
7/6 is a no-go. Is there a better weeknight, or should I pick a weekend day and we can grille? I have a tremendous driveway and I live at the end of a dead end so I have tons of parking, and a welder, and air tools (but no lift, sorry).
You'll need to log in to post.
