About every other summer (or more often, it seems), the interior mirror falls off of my car's windshield. Always in the summer. I have replaced it with the kits available; I have had the dealer service dept replace it; and I have had an independent garage replace it. It never remains in place through more than two summers. This started about ten years ago; the car is a '94. What's up with that (besides the mirror)? and any tips on keeping the mirror in place? Thanks
Never had it happen where a mirror would keep falling off if I used the 2 part mounting kit and followed the instructions. Clean well with razor blade both surfaces, wipe with pre set and add glue. After that all was well. This even worked with much heavier cameras that get adjusted often a couple times a day. If you have done that I would check the metal pad for a burr or curve.
Happened on my truck four times in one summer, that crap NAPA sells is useless. I went to a glass shop and the guy used some type of Loc-Tite, I don't recall the product number but it's been on ever since.

Adopt the first rule of Italian driving, what is behind (you) is not important.
The stuff I used was either Locktite or maybe Permatex brand. It had a blue cardboard backing in a blister pack.
