Are the hydraulics on a WRX clutch that bad?

For some reason, Subaru have seen fit to use extremely stiff pressure plates in turbo cars,  Probably because they are using 225mm disks,

For reference, 1.8l Miatas use 225mm clutches.  RX-7 turbos and RX-8s used 240mm.

Definitely drive before you buy.

I had an 02 WRX. I really don't think the clutch throw is that heavy. Sure it is heavier than your run of the mill cars but I actually preferred it. I hate those wimpy clutch pedals that just fall to the floor.

My 03 WRX with an exedy "stage 1" clutch is easy peasy.  Comparables include a C5 with a SPEC twin disk, an F250 with a South Bend something something, and stock Viper.

I was going to say my wife DDs an 04 Forester XT manual and has managed to not have an unusually muscular left leg.

GD are a lot lighter than whatever Subaru used behind the 2.5 turbo engines post-07.

I found a stock WRX one time.   I verified that it was stock by beating it in a ridiculously long race with my stock 1988 Mazda 626GT.

A few years ago, I bought an '04 WRX wagon from a small dealer. It would've been stock, had they not put a cat-back exhaust on it. They included the stock exhaust with the sale.

Gotcha. I haven't personally experienced any of those.

My '14 is completely stock besides the gold RPF1's.

If a car is stock "except for..." then it isn't stock.

For that matter,  my RX-7 is stock except for the Megasquirt and the 13B and the FC subframe.  And the stereo headunit. And the carpet is missing.  And I may have tinkered with the rear suspension geometry a bit.  But other than that it's stock.

FWIW, one of my customers DOES have a completely stock '11 wagon.  I lust after that thing until I need two feet to push down on the clutch.  Then I lament its existence.

I think that's being a bit pedantic, Knurled.  If I iso multiple sets of wheels for a car, I'm not allowed to call it stock when the other set is on?

Sounds like most Craigslist ads  laugh

Ok, its only stock 5 months out of the year when the original wheels are on the car for the winter. It's modified the rest of the year with readily available replacement parts in the same size as the stock pieces.

My wife 09 5 door is stock other then I've added all the "Premium" package stuff like heated seat, defrosting side mirrors, and Fog Lights.  For the most part i used Factory parts for easy of installation.  Heck even when the turbo whent I used Factroy after screwing around with a company who sold me a "factory new" unit that didn't fit i called up SubaruGenuineParts and had a Subaru factory bolt in new unit for less then the other company wanted for a re-man...
