Much too young. John Andretti did it all Indy cars, NASCAR, off road and even some top fuel drag racing. Met him at Atlanta Motor Speedway years ago and seemed like an a great guy and very easy to talk to.

I know it gets said a lot but colon cancer can be prevented. I have a family history with my sister dying of colon cancer and brother having part of his colon removed. If you have a family history, intestinal symptoms or are at the 40 year old threshold schedule an appointment and colonoscopy. Doesn't sound appealing, lots of jokes but it's easy, painless and gives you great peace of mind.

He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

I met him once briefly at an Indycar race in the early '90's.  A very likeable guy and actually quite funny.  Mario and Michael were somewhat standoffish, I assume because of the all attention, but John, he was approachable and engaging.  He was always my favorite Andretti.  RIP.

Yes, he was a great, versatile race car driver. More importantly, he seemed to be a personable guy and a class act. After his diagnosis in 2017, he used his situation to become a high-profile advocate for screening. We will miss him. Condolences to the Andretti family.

Not sure if I was aware that there was a John Andretti, but I don't really follow NASCAR, off-road racing or drag racing. Cancer sure sucks - I do know that much.

The guy always had a big smile on his face.  He just seemed to be happy to be here.
