Any common problems for the Ford 3.5v6 and 6f50 combo? SWMBO has hit new car time, wants a suv, and strongly prefers Ford. Her dad retired from Ford so there is the z plan to consider. If there are common problems we can do a lease but if it is a pretty solid combo then a purchase might be better. Just looking for some experiences from some Ford guys.

EDIT: original was deleted so I put question on duplicate

Sorry about that. The wrong thread got deleted.

Anyways, if the 3.5L you are talking about is the latest from the Cyclone family, then I doubt you will have any problems with it. My Mustang's 3.7L Cyclone has been trouble free for the past 2 years and 32k miles I've had it. The current Taurus SHO uses a variant of the slushbox you describe. I haven't heard of any problems with it unless the owner turns up the boost to silly levels, so it should be OK in a more pedestrian application.
