I think the topic of the eyelet /clip on style harness ends (most common/FIA legal) has been covered ubiquitously, though there seems to be a distinct lack of easy to find information on the bolt on style.. Are these effectively similar to how one should treat the bolt location for the eyelet type? Or are there other considerations. Currently have a bolt-on type (SFI only) in hand, would prefer the clip on but might not be able to get a set in time for when I need them. Any help is appreciated!

Schroth Racing has an excellent guide for installing harnesses.  You can find that here -> Link

I prefer either a shoulder bolt or a lug welded to the frame with the OD that fits the hole in the harness end.  In the later configuration the bolt's primary function is to keep the harness end from sliding off the lug while the lug takes the bulk of the force.  I use that style on tube chassis cars.

Without the great guides Schroth has put together there's very little good information to go on out there. You'd think for what they charge for a set of harnesses that they could come up with a decent installation document from each brand.
