So per recommendations here I watched some Australian Touring Car masters and it was awesome, then I saw this

Datsun 510 vs FB Rx7 vs Sylvia vs Evo vs E90 BMW vs Rabbit vs MR2
I don't think I could have dreamed up such a diverse interesting field
Yes. Improved Touring. If that seems too restrictive, there is Production, which has fairly loose rules.

I donno. I'm not sure if there are any road racing classes in the US that have the same incredibly open modification rules and a weight-displacement table that accommodates everything from 1400cc to 6000cc+. It's like SCCA Super Touring on steroids. Or acid. Not sure which.
Always a bunch of commodores and falcons in the improved production races aswell. Plus older cars like the Geminis aswell.

Did you read all of those rules? I glanced over a good bit of them. Interesting concept, but fairly restrictive. I would not call them "incredibly open" at all. But make no mistake- these are full-on race cars. I think the requirement for road legal lights gives the illusion they are closer to being street cars.
The one little bit that probably acts as a real equalizer is the wheel sizing and tire rules. And it's a spec tire class - everyone is running a Yokohama tire.
Conversely, SCCA Production classes are pretty much wide open. If that is too spicy/competitive, there is a Vintage Production.
I just have never seen any US based road race series with cars from the 70's 80's 90's and newer all competing on track together?
Improved Touring does have a few FB's or used to probably because they used to have that ITA/Spec Rx7 class that would compete with the NA miatas
I discovered IPRA when I found build photos of Ingram Brothers Racing's RX-7 on facebook.
Then I saw this Civic battle a Holden and a turbo first gen Celica. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnQP95aVv04&t=711s
I want to say World Racing League is the most comparable since they allow any year car as long as it was sold in the US, but I have not seen a field as diverse or modified. I admittedly haven't seen a lot of coverage of many of their races.

Never watched SCCA E-Production?

Nope, that looks pretty cool tho, I had seen some Eprod miata "speedster" type race cars but didn't know the rest of the field was diverse
