Something from a charity event this month.
Anyone know of a website that plays Vintage Demolition Derby TV shows from the 1960s and 70s ?
They must of destroyed lots of cool stuff that was going to the crusher anyway !

Search on Amazon prime video, I've found a bunch of specials from the 70s and 80s that are free with prime. Old demo derby, monster truck, that sort of thing.
A couple weeks ago I went to a demo derby for the first time since I left Ohio. It was smaller, much smaller than what those southern Ohio boys do. I'd imagine any one of those guys could come out here and destroy everyone. They just seemed like they really didn't know what they were doing. There are families that have been doing Derbys for generations in my hometown. And I'm here to tell you they take it very seriously.
Also I was saddened by a couple of the cars that got destroyed. A 1973 Monte Carlo. A two door full size Oldsmobile B-body (those things are getting pretty rare these days. A couple big ol Cadillacs. What looked to be a two door Buick LeSabre or something similar from the mid seventies. I know they aren't worth anything but they are rare and they certainly aren't making anymore of them. Seems like a shame.
My neighbor builds derby cars, about 1 every other month or so. Every one i've seen so far is some old 70's-80's body set on a 2000's crown vic frame, i imagine it's better then other frames due to the wide frame rails in the center. I'm guessing that the bodies that they use are plucked off of examples with a bad frame/suspension/drivetrain that has deemed it unusable.
Derby cars are really popular around here, I helped build one and when it was done I was sad it was going to be smashed. It's less painful for me too watch now, the local rules require cars 1980 or newer. Pretty much all crown vics. I have seen a few foxbody and 3rd gen camaro in the compact/windshield classes though.
Did ruin local crown vic prices, derby guys who are serious spend some real coin for rust free cars
