And it is. :)
And I really do like the Elantra N. I guess my Honda fan boi-ness is showing with this one.

I’m probably not the one to ask as I didn’t have trouble with the Type R.
But checking Honda’s specs right now.
2017 Honda Civic Type R front headroom: 39.3 inches.
2023 Acura Integra Type S front headroom: 38.6 inches.

The Civic Si kinda throws off the curve as it’s just the bargain of the group. Now add another 100-plus horsepower, and you have the Integra Type S.
If shopping for a new car today, the Civic Si would be up near the top of the list.
If I didn’t have to pay for it, then I’d go with the Integra Type S.

I sat in one at my Acura dealer - I'm tall and fit great (6'4"). No sunroof on the one they had.

So far, so good. I think that’s calmed down. Or, at least I hope so. (My wife daily drives a 2014 Civic Si.)
Although our next-door neighbor let me know that his doorbell cam caught a prowler last night–a little fox!
Judging by the real world prices of the new or nearly new CTR's I'm seeing for sale, if you can buy an Integra type S for 50k actual, thats 3 to 5k cheaper than the Civic and worth it. I've already decided on a Civic Si in a couple of years but if I can find a slightly used Integra A spec w/tech 6 speed I'd jump all over that. After all, we all have some sort of budget to keep.
How is the fit and finish? The Internet forums are reporting misaligned panels and paint defects.
How is the exhaust note?
Will there a lap time from the FIRM?

A. Seems fine to me. Satisfying door clunks and no rattle or squeaks to report. Everything seems lined up nicely, although I admit I haven't spent too much time behind the front seats yet.
B. Pretty subdued, actually, even in Sport+ mode. I think there's some active cancelation going on through the audio system, actually. The exhaust gets a bit louder from Normal to Sport to Sport+, but some of the high-end frequencies also disappear. So there's either an amazingly well-tuned exhaust system of some of those frequencies are being overmapped by the stereo.
C. Man I hope so. We pulled some favors to get some track time this week (they were all booked with private rentals and special events), but the weather is uncharacteristically crappy. Right now it loos like we're making the trip, but there's every chance the lap time may be compromised. Still, there's interesting tidbits in the data, even in suboptimal conditions. At this point as long as the weather isn't so bad that it's an active threat to expensive cameras and audio recorders we'll be there tomorrow doing... something. Hopefully we get a dry enough track for a couple real laps.
So, alllllll the way back in 1998, we had an Integra Type R press car. It was actually a ’97 but no complaints.
That car left a mark on me. Totally loved the combination of performance and fit and finish.
I even asked Honda about buying it but was told it had to eventually go home to the mother ship.
A few years later, when it was time for us to really buy a new car, we did the Civic Si instead–a little less money plus the sunroof my wife wanted. (The “less money” thing was a big part of it, too.)
One day, though, I’ll have a Championship White Honda. :)
So I picked up the Integra from JG today after doing a little filming with it.
So far I really like it, definitely a step up from the Civic Si and more subtle design than the Type R.
My Acura dealer called me since I showed interest a month or so ago. I told him white is the proper color for a Japanese race car.
I think he went - huh?
So I drove the Type S to Orlando last night to pick my parents up from the airport. Fuel averaged 27.7 mpg round trip in comfort mode.
I tried swapping between modes to see if there would be a difference in feel just driving down the highway but the only thing I noticed was the exhaust got louder in sport and sport plus modes.
I would definitely drive this car every day if I were in the market for something similar.
Also, I agree that this car looks very good in this color combination, I'm not sold on the red interior accents though.
Thanks for the reviews guys!
How are the "active" dampers in it vs. the CTR? From what I was reading is that it's just a module that one could actually swap into the CTR if they chose to do so.
Also the fact the ITS doesn't get the shift lights and cool gauge effects that the CTR does is somewhat of a letdown for the price premium.
Seats? They look pretty comfy compared to the CTR; however, the CTR seats are actually quite comfortable.
Seems like a great long distance commuter.
I found the seats to be way comfortable. This is my cross-country machine. Load up and head out.
Let me get JG to talk more about the dampers.
I didn’t mind not having the shift light or cool gauges. I found the entire package to offer the right blend between sport and luxury without trying too hard. Really, at the end of the day, it reminded me a lot of the original Integra Type R.
