That really captures the essence of the Fiero design. The simple wedge, the mid engine. Awesome early-80s Pontiac styling. That would be such a wicked sleeper. The 85 MPH speedometer is a laugh. Am I the only one who thinks the ride height is about an inch too high? And I might try to shave off the luggage rack. But this is seriously cool.
needs a suspension upgrade to the last year Fiero, lowered, and a better speedo. That's about all I can think that it needs. I think that looks cleaner than when fieros were actually rolling off of the assembly line.
As an aside the mid to late 80s were magical years for low cost mid-engined cars. The X1/9 was still going strong, the MR2 came out, and then the Fiero. Discounting the high end exotics, I am not sure that there were ever so many mid-engined car choices before or since
That thing is astonishing. I love it. Perfect blend of 80s styling and modern drivetrain. I do wonder how the suspension handles being pushed - I guess the little tires are a good "fuse."

What about early 2ks? Mr2, boxster, elise?
Assuming that thing is well sorted, that is a heck of a lot of sleeper for $14k. Looks extremely under-tired.
I love the 85mph speedo. You could probably just keep it for orginality sake and use a GPS speedo for your actual speed.
I wouldn't change a thing. Luggage rack, 4x4 stance, all enhance the sleeper vibe. Maybe wider wheels and mud flaps to camouflage the size. I would troll relentlessly.

Agreed, sort of. There is one thing I'd do....
Remove the huge sticker from the rear window. Other than that. Perfect.

2ks? As for the Boxster and Elise, I tend to put them a little higher up the food chain than the Fiero, MR2, and X1/9. I should have specified mid-engined cars on a Civic budget
That is the best sleeper I have seen in ages. Also a smoking deal if it is half as nice as it looks.
In reply to mad_machine :
I meant 2000's as in the decade. Yeah, I see your point about price, but it's not like boxster and Elise are Ferrari territory either.
