I don't know how I feel about this guy. I really respect that he does most of his own work and would rather drive a 60's Porsche than some new car, but the shameless self-promotion grates on me a little and the videos of him driving like a madman on public streets don't sit well, either...

Similar reasons I dislike Bill Caswell. He tends to get up his own butt sometimes. That and his association with Gawker/Jalopnik. Just a little subtlety would do his image good. Same for the subject in the OP.
I like Magnus. Granted, he did start that thread, but the masterful presentation of the thread itself is what attracted people to him and caused the "self promotion".
More importantly how did he get the money to own all those Porsches while looking like that? I want that job.

He started a clothing biz in LA but the real money came from renting out his warehouse to reality TV shows and stuff.
His stuff prompted me to recall the $175k early 911 that was on BaT recently. Insane what some of these "restored" cars go for!

it's the "...and stuff" where the real money is. Supposedly there are a few films of an adult nature that were filmed in the upstairs rooms of his workshop.
Also, he got into the clothing business by selling knitted hats on the Venice beach boardwalk.
Yep, his girlfriend/wife I believe owns more property as well. They rent to anybody who needs fancy/different looking sets.
Thanks jerk, I just spent like the WHOLE day looking through that thread. Started about 8am and got done about an hour ago. Wass pretty friggin swee though. He's now a friend on FB.
Merchandising! Merchandising!
Dude's got more blog posts about his knick-knacks than about the cars.
