Viewers of Marvel Studios’ “She-Hulk” Episode 8, which premiered last week, were treated to an action sequence where our titular protagonist, attorney/hulk Jennifer Walters, squared off against rival attorney/hookup Matt Murdock/Daredevil over her client/his target Eugene Patilio, also known as Leap-Frog.
Patilio is fleeing from Murdock in a small green sports car that we originally coded as a Ginetta of some …

The Z originally had me thinking that it was some kind of Zagato one-off.
This is what happens when you want to be the British Warren Mosler but you just don't want to work very hard at it.

Zolfe. My old coworker at AutoTrader tried to import them a decade ago. They had one up and running with Miata drivetrain and cluster, but the emissions hoops were just a pain. They had some deal with Atlanta Motorsports Park too. Cool car, weighs nothing.

This space for rent. Reasonable rates. Inquire within.
This is what I love most about GRM. It seems that any four wheeled conveyance imaginable someone that belongs to the forums here will either have intimate personal knowledge of said unit or will know someone who did for real. I love it.
Car... yes... interesting...
There is a show called:
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law !!!!
I really hope this is parody. I have actually seen some clips and NO, CGI characters are still NOT a viable option!

It's like the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon or something.

It was Frank Boulton and his son Michael Boulton who tried to get the Zolfe distribution going. Frank was big into racing for years.
Went to Goodwood Festival a few years ago. Took us about an hour or so just to walk through the parking area eyeballing all the cool obscure British cars we never even heard of.

I thought it was a Miata at a glance.

Alow me to elaborate on how the Zolfe got into the mix on She Hulk....
As one of the original 2 "dealers" for the car here in the USA. The Zolfe is a wonderfully engineered lightweight sports racer/daily driver that delivers incredible performance and driving fun.
We were developing the integration of the take-out drive lines with the chassis to please both the EPA and DOT, we rand into many challenges that proved to be more of an ECU programming nightmare than originally anticipated. The project was then shelved.
Moving away from product development and race management, I found myself drawn to the TV and Motion Picture Industry. As it turns out, there was a decided lack of Picture Car Coordinators in Georgia and I was rapidly assimilated into the profession. I have been working with production companies and studios to bring automotive creative visions to life on the screen for nearly 10 years now.
Coordinating for Marvel Streaming/She Hulk, the Zolfe was pitched as a car for the aspiring super-hero character "Leap Frog" and it was a solid hit. The car performed beautifully on screen and looked great.
I work with many Studios and Production Companies to coordinate vehicles that play in front of the camera.
If it's got a steering wheel and rolls, we provide it. Everything from modern day to vintage (including collectable) cars and trucks, to stunt prep and custom design and fabrication.
The Zolfe may make another appearance in the future albeit in a somewhat different configuration..

This is amazing.
I can't be alone in now being heavily invested in wanting you and jfry to team up so we can someday see an all-GRM message board car chase in theaters.

I, for the first time, regret having only one thumbs up to give!
We need the good inside stories these guys can tell!!!!

Welcome to our community and, wow, thank you for the behind-the-scenes info.
(Also, a TV commercial was once filmed at my brother's house, and his wife's car makes a cameo but they cropped out the badge.)

I also feel like Eric Voss could get a 30 minute video just out of analyzing this line alone :)

If it had all the Miata emissions stuff on it, how could it fail to pass?

Perhaps Miata driveline in a modern car? The my understanding is that the BP Miata engines are quite dirty little pigs...

Holy crap, you have my dream job. Ever since I interviewed Dennis McCarthy years ago I thought it would be a fun gig to find cars for TV shows and movies.
Funny thing, at the time at AutoTrader we had one guy working on building the Zolfe business and a lady in marketing who's fiance' was building some weird kit car in his garage that looked like a knockoff of an Ariel Atom with a Miata drivetrain. One project didn't make it, the other is now Kevin Patrick's Exocet world. It could have gone either way at that early point.

Hey, I know that woman in marketing. :)
