We noticed this E30 on the way to lunch. I picked up on the Miata wheels quickly but Asa noticed the Mazda calipers. Known bolt in or?

Yea, those are 5 bolt rx7 calipers. Cheap and its of pad options.

4 piston aluminum calipers.

That would be the well documented fc rx7 caliper big brake conversion.

Not bolt in.

Needs a bracket adapter and vw Corrado rotors milled to fit the e30 hub. Maybe a different brake hose too. I don't remember right now.

Pretty cool! Wish there were bolt in.

I would love to know how someone came up with this combo of parts.

The Corrado rotors used to get used on Miata big brakes because they're big (11") and have a 4x100 pattern. That's a relatively unusual combination. They're also cheap as chips, as our British friends would say.

The RX7 calipers are also a known thing, an aluminum four pot caliper on a production car that's fairly easy to find. So all you'd really need to do is check the area of the pistons to see if they line up with what BMW used, and walla.

The brake mod is new to me, haven't heard of it before now. Learned something. But I found out that E30's w/4 bolt are 4X100 just like Miata's and what I also found out is Opels. I'm running BMW BBS Basketweaves on my Opel GT.
