I've been looking at NB Miatas on Craiglist to replace my current rusty one. I've found more than one in the mileage and price range that I want, but they all have the side skirts on them. I hate those things, hence the Tupperware reference. How are those skirts attached to the car? I'd remove them in a heartbeat if there aren't any holes, aside from some on the fender lips.
There's two types. "Small tupperware" doesnt look bad and doesnt leave holes when removed .
Large tupperware looks awful and leaves holes.

IMO they ALL leave holes. Just not intentional ones. Side skirts promote rust, they keep dirt up against the body for a gentle paint-scrubbing action along with holding moisture against the now bare metal.
And the best part is, you don't know it's happening until the day they fall off.
Maybe so but the small skirts don't have holes as part of mounting.
And my rust free nb has them.
They do have holes, but the rocker area on the NB is textured and looks like ass anyways. The side skirts look better and keep make the car look lower then without.
The 99 and 00 Tupperware is a lot better looking to me then the 01 to 05.
Are the holes on the bottom face of the rocker area, or on the visible part?
I'm actually looking for a set of the small Tupperware side skirts if anyone has a set that they want to get rid of.
I'm planning on doing some repair work to one of my rocker panels. I don't want to paint the whole car when I'm done and I doubt that I'll be able to blend it in all that well. I even like the way that the small ones look.
I have a set of small tupperware. I'll send a message tomorrow.
Cool! What color?
(and my apologies for the threadjack, DeadSkunk)
My car is silver but I'm still interested.

You have mail.
To everyone that finds this post wondering about the "small" tupperware on an NB: It definitely leaves holes.
Photos attached.
But even with the holes, from a few feet away the car looks way better without the gaudy plastic.
You haven’t really worked an autocross until you have fetched some Tupperware from the course.
"Station 2, two cones for No. 31 E Street. And hold the start for a sec, we need to pick up parts from that Miata."
UPDATE: With a wonder wheel to remove the 3M tape and some rubber grommets to fill the holes, the holes are barely noticeable unless you get up close. And the fine lines of the original design are restored.
I've contacted an auto body shop to find out what's required to inspect inside the panels for rust and replace them, if necessary. I'll update this thread with what I find out.
