There was a red one, with an almost identical conversion, featured in European Car back in 1992. I wonder if it's the same car..
I was all excited, and almost ready to pack up and head to Colorado, then I saw the B&M shifter and realized it's an automatic.
"every drive in this car is an event" Does it mean it doesn't run well? Or is it so out of balance it's going to kill you like an old air cooled Porsche....... either way I want me some of that.
Not what I was expecting... thought I was going to see a cheap M-B...
I'm assuming the "SL awesomeness" title was supposed to be "CL awesomeness"?
I don't know Saabs, so I have to ask whether there's a good reason to have the steering rack back there.

A mid engine Mercedes SL would be interesting to see.

I dare say this car belongs in the GGA thread even more than the box-flares thread!!!
I have a friend who put a 96 body on a 9-3 chassis. It was at the recent SAAB (convention) in Albany.

I've seen photos. Not my thing, but I'm glad someone did something with a 96 body, I guess.

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. And no, I cannot think of a reason. I assume the entire front suspension is back there (which is a good thing as the 900 uses A arms and Coil springs) but I would think fabricating up a more rigid mount to keep the wheels straight would be better
