You just wrote up everything that I've felt over the last couple weeks. The seats are so much better for me because the 1st gen put my shoulders in a weird place. The rear seat touches the front seat on a position where I am comfy so package shelf for sure.

Only difference I felt was the throttle response in the Subaru is better in my opinion.

Cool that we see most things the same.  Yes...you described the seat perfectly.

Interesting on the throttle response.  I'm going to dig into that.  I was looking for something to need improvement, and that's what i came up with.  When I get back to Maryland, I will do a back to back comparison with the FRS.

I'm driving this from my home in Maryland to Daytona (Rolex24)and back. I should end up at about 1800 miles by the end of the weekend. . I'm not sure that is a totally responsible thing to do, but it feels pretty right.

I decided to return full time to Austin so I'll have a 800 mile trip from Omaha to Austin here in 2 weeks. I'll also probably go back to being on staff at COTA so maybe get some good lap time there eventually. God knows I've spent at least 3 weeks a year there overall since it opened. My home away from home.

I think you will be pleased!  After sleeping on it, I have not changed my position at all. Zero buyers remorse. After a few zoom meetings this morning, I will give her a bath and maybe take some more pics. I am admittedly a little smitten.

Congrats!  The color looks great!

For the throttle response.  The trick below may help since you haven't gone full throttle much yet.  There is an also equally annoying step for disabling the seat belt chime.

You can try this trick: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3484890&postcount=4

That is fantastic!  Thank you...I will do this right away. Yes, the pedal has not hit the floor regularly yet. Awesome if this works.
Maybe this is why bmw88rider and I are separating in this category. I haven't really nailed the throttle yet.

If that doesn't work, you might want to try to contact these guys: https://www.sprintboosterusa.com/how-it-works/

Since the pedal is simply a rheostat delivering a signal to the ECU, this just plugs in in line and changes the mapping, so that more throttle action is available earlier in the pedal throw. Makes a noticeable difference in response, even if it adds zero power itself. I've used it on a few cars now and it's super simple to use and makes a lot of difference in drivability. Also has valet mode to limit throttle use when being borrowed...

Thank you...day two... zero regrets. I got all the road salt purged from her this afternoon. At 700 miles, I decided to stretch her legs. Night and day feel difference between gen 1 and 2. I didn't bump the limiter but got up to 7100 or so...and it comes up pretty quickly. I was at 90 in a 45 quickly (country roads, no other cars seen). The exhaust note opens up with the open throttle and sounds nice. I took my wife for her first turn in it this evening and got big smiles on the 1-2/2-3/3-4 snatches. It isn't a drag car, but it's plenty enough. It is very surefooted and I got nowhere near any limits on the country roads. The seats offer great lateral support, and continue to be super comfy.
These cars come with a one year NASA membership and a track day ( like the Supra deal) so I'm at least going to do a few DE sessions between Camaro race runs. It will be a great car to take friends, family and crew out in also.
It's better than a second cup of coffee.

I tried the 60 pump method as described... I do not detect any improvement. It's not awful, I just would like to feel the response with slightly less pedal input. If I don't correct it soon, I will probably just get used to it.

I am going to read through these links and info tonight. I've also contacted my dealer to make sure this doesn't mess with any warranty protection...just in case!  By the way, it sounds as though my dealer is working a deal to get another manual premium in. If he is successful (and one of my co-workers doesn't buy it first) I will put the info here.

The installation instructions look dirt simple. And the users manual looks equally straightforward. If I don't land an onboard system solution soon ( by the end of the trip) I am probably a future customer. Thanks a ton!

At some point, this thread needs to be abandoned...but just a few more thoughts.
We drove from near Savannah to Daytona yesterday/last night. The odometer is a touch over 1200 miles now.
Nothing has soured the experience...I got to see David, JG, Tim and team at the tent yesterday and was able to verbally convey my endorsement. Especially after watching JG's video.
David had pointed me early on to the RF which is a major contender, but I'm happy with my choice (but agree I would have been happy with that one as well). I'm thankful that we still live in a world where there are options for such cars.
In 1200 miles, , I don't think I've totally disconnected from the car while driving it. I'm always aware of it. That is a good thing.
After a fuel stop yesterday, i needed to make a tight u-turn, and was able to kick the car around easily with some throttle but it came back to neutral instantly when desired.
I'm still looking for things to criticize, but it's tough. The stereo isn't great, but I don't listen to music much in cars. The throttle response could be better but there appears to be an easy fix for that. (Thanks Chris_V) The fuel tank is small and limits range but that keeps the weight nice.
I might dust this thread off after a track session. It would be very interesting to compare this car to my former 944 race car. The folks at Toyota have done a great job of designing the nearly perfect car for my 60th birthday.

Glad you liked it. Zero Complaints on mine either (Outside the cost to register it but that's not subaru's fault)

I drove it back to back with my fox body this weekend and man they are so similar in their mission. Both drift easy. Will blow the tires off if you are heavy handed, and even after all of it, they are cheap to play with. The BRZ is way better in all ways but just the just the idea of a small RWD decently powerful coupe with a manual is still the same years later.

Mine goes to Texas to play in the sunshine this weekend for good. If anyone is at the SCCA Super Tour at COTA and wants to check it out, just holler. I'll be at one of the corners.

(I accidentally posted this somewhere else so you aren't crazy if you see this elsewhere)

Chiming back in. I have crossed the 2500 mile mark. The car is quicker and even more capable than I originally thought. I am also able to bring on oversteer more easily due to increased power and torque and throttle steering is a breeze. It is very well balanced with a firm/not harsh ride.
I don't need to wind it all the way up but it gets up in the revs quickly so that's starting to be a regular thing.
The little issue i had with 5-6 quick shifts is gone so I am chalking that up to getting my personal geometry down.
It is a 10 for what i wanted and I like the way it looks too.
