We've been using that at work forever, not for tamper detection but to indicate vibration loosening. (large bore cannon).

Man, the criticism is strong with some of you. Thanks for putting this in mind JG, I need to get some for the racecar, will cut down on before session checks

I've been meaning to get some for the bigger jobs I send out. I put a new top end in an RMK600 last week and I should have put something on the head bolts and cylinder bolts, just in case people decide to "fix" things themselves.

This. We used it at work on all engine fasteners and I used it myself on critical suspension bolts on my cars. Its use has been around for decades, but I guess young people need a reminder now and then, hah.
