I wouldn't call it ugly. It doesn't appeal to me anywhere near as much as the original...or an R8...or that Ford or really anything else that you could compare it to.
That crab wouldn't be nearly as good for transportation but I'd put money on it tasting better than the NSX.
I can agree the front end looks odd when you are looking at from ground level like the picture above. It looks great when you look at it from the height a human stands.

Not to me it doesn't, but that's what makes horse races.

Looks like it sucked on something really sour....
Styling has never been a Japanese strong point - I very much prefer the original NSX.
The engine in that one was a jewel and if you judiciously added a turbo, you could eliminate one of the only criticisms - that the power was on the low side (I used to piss one owner off with my turbo Fiero, which had more power and less weight).
The cheaper answer (than buying a newer version) was to turbo the original car - 490 BHP was easily attainable on stock bottom ends for an investment of around $12K.

You put a turbo on an old car and you have an old car with a turbo. Just sayin'
Yeah maybe the looks don't stand out next to the Audi, Mclaren, Ferrari, etc bunch but the crazy hybrid tech has my attention. That's what makes this car interesting to me. I think it stands out because of that.

And that is why I'd prefer an original.

Everything older is better
I think it looks pretty good. I only hope it will cause original NSX owners to sell and flood the market

I drove an old 88 Fiero that I had turboed as my daily driver for two9 decades and it was dead reliable.
None of the NSX's that I've seen have been high mileage cars and the handling is still as good as anything but the newest megabuck yuppie toys, so I see nothing wrong with taking a great handling low mileage older model and throwing a bit of money at it to create a cut rate super car.
I like it. Granted I like the new gt more but id love to have a run around atrack in this.

Nope.
I really don't like the fussy styling of the front end. I guess I'm just getting to old to appreciate a lot of "modern" things: Most TV commercials, C7 Corvettes, the latest Camaro, the new GT40, the new Supra, etc.
IMHO, there were certain car designs that visually can't be improved. The GT40 MkI is one of those. Call that Acura something else because it doesn't do justice to the original. It might be a very nice, technology packed car, but it's not the spirit or philosophy of the original NSX.
The Eagle Speedster is the proper way to redo a classic. Update the mechanicals without changing the basic heart of the car, update the styling in a subtle manner. If only there weren't government nannys (interesting that Autocorrect wanted to change nannys to Nancys) dictating automotive design for this to be a reality.
The cool thing is that you will be able to buy a really nice NSX for way less than the cost of this thing. For these "toy" or status cars, that's pretty good. Try buying an original GT40. My Wayne Carini prediction is buy a classic NSX, they are only going up in price!
Not the most impressive of the new mid engines (4C & GT) but I would still rock it.

I don't like the front (shocker), but I do like the side and rear just fine. I like the Ford GT much better though in all areas.
