I actually wish he would have kept the original bumpers, tail lights and nixed the hood scoop. My first car was a 124 SC and it was a fun car. Great car to learn on because it was constantly needing something...brakes, body work, electrical, you name it.
those are the original taillights.. not sure what you mean about keeping them. That is a 124 CC in all it's unusual and questionable fiddly bits (the AC and BC were prettier and less cluttered)

That explains some of the stuff done to that car. I don't particularly care for much of what he did. It's mostly ricky racer comsmetics. Nothing of note done to the drivetrain and it looks rather silly with those skinny wheels/tires. Below is my old car (I didn't build this look; a subsequent buyer did all this). Proper set of wheels and had a fully built engine. When he sold it he struggled to get about what this guy was asking for his poseur version.
