I’m in the process of moving and had my crate of automotive fluids in the passenger floorboard. At some point my kids stacked something on top of the crate and slowly discharged an unknown quantity of my favorite aromatic hydrocarbon into the floorboard of my Tundra.
If you’ve ever used PB Blaster, I’m sure you can smell where I’m coming from.
Thoughts on how to attack this?
Nuke it from orbit. I have never found a way to remove the smell.
Bagpipes are an outdoor instrument in the same way that PB Blaster is an outdoor smell.
Fire?
The following is almost completely unrelated, but when has that ever stopped me?
I really won't be able to do this story justice, but many moons ago, I was installing accessories in a new Suzuki SJ413 Samurai. I had a stack of tires and various things, with a little center console sitting on top of the pile. The genuine high school graduate we had as a lot boy came by, opened the lid on the console, looked inside it, and then closed the lid. When it closed, there was a psssst sound...open again, look, close, pssst. Open, look, close, psst... After about 90 seconds of watching this, I went over, lifted the console up, removed the almost empty can of WD40 that was under it, and went back to work.
I presume he works for the government now.
I’ll at least try some kind of surfactant and vacuum before I hit up the junkyards for a used carpet set. Ugh.
My eyes are watering just thinking about it and the smell receptors in my brain are burnt out. Why couldn’t have been WD40?
I will give you a brand new can of PB Blaster to replace the empty one, in exchange for your now totally useless truck.
In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :
My brother plays his bagpipes inside. The dog was REALLY confused for a while.
I had a can of Kroil do this to my RX7. Glad it was Kroil.
There aren't any sure fire methods I know of. I mostly want to sympathize.
Damn, that's gotta suck! LOL
I would however endeavor to break down the petroleum products with some Dawn Platinum dish soap, lots of water and a wet-vac.
I use Dawn Platinum for pretty much everything now. It's better than the "Orange" hand cleaners at cleaning skin and cheaper.

how do I unfriend this guy...
will he know?
I love the smell of PB Blaster, but a whole can's worth has got to be eyewatering. Since it does evaporate maybe try leaving the windows open for a while?

Dr. Strangesmell or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the smell of PB Blaster.
Yet another reason I like Freeze-Off, I think it actually smells good.
That is to say, I enjoy PB Blaster in the same way I enjoy bagpipes, outdoors and occasionally. Being trapped indoors with either is not my idea of a good time.
Your best bet is Dawn and warm water. I'd seriously consider dismantling the interior to wash the carpet outside the truck.
Is it still wet? pour baking soda (Arm&Hammer) on it and let it soak it up. Then shop vac it a few times. the pour more baking soda and let it soak, then vacuum it. The pour vinegar on the affected area for a few minutes and scrub it with dawn dishsoap and water. Then pour baking soda again so it can soak up the vinegar and vacuum it. From there shampoo and clean the carpet.
I had a lot of gasoline spill in the back of my excursion like all over the rear carpet while driving. I pulled into Stater Bros and bought a bunch of baking soda, some vinegar, few towels, scrub brushes, and fabreeze. Drove home (windows down getting high) and did the above. The gasoline was still sitting in the carpet, so my first step was actually soaking it up with towels. Then started the baking soda...
Goodluck
Fresh ground pound of coffee... open bag in car... let sit for a few days.
Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure I could've removed the rear carpet pretty easily and did all of that outside the truck. Damn.
Remove carpet from truck.
Clean floor well.
Attack carpet with everything you've got. Ultimately, you may end up burning it.
PB smell is why I don't buy PB Blaster. It makes gear oil smell like ambrosia. I'd rather never get the bolt out than smell that crap.
I'd probably pull the carpet and replace it.
I don't know what you guys are biatchin' about. It's Manny, Moe and Jack Perfume!
You guys are looking at this wrong...
His kids did him a favor by ensuring that the patch of carpet will never rust.
How much of a PITA would it be to remove the carpet in that area?

That stuff works but is nasty. I left a rag wet with it on the trunk of my car during a particularly frustrating job. Somehow it discolored the paint underneath the clear coat. A few years on now and the clear coat has peeled and the color is still there. I do not envy you
Don't aerosol cans come with a cap ? Of course everyone uses them.
