I had that generation F350 with a 6.2 as a press car, and it was a total dog. Even driving around empty I kept thinking "wow this is slow."
Fascinating. I've got a 2020 F-250 with the 6.2 and it feels like it has plenty of motor. At least as fast as my 3.5 Ecoboost F-150 in a substantially heavier truck. I wonder if the 6.2 is that improved over that time, or if we just percieve things differently.
My manual 2500 Cummins is pretty slow, but that's because I drive it like it weighs 7700 lbs empty and it has a gearbox with massive internals with lots of inertia. Which it does.

Is your 3.5 ecoboost misfiring on 3 cylinders?
A 100% box stock 2021 F150 XLT Sport 4x4 with the 3.5 will do 13 flat at 99.8 MPH in the quarter. An F250 won't do that falling off a cliff.
If you want to be different. A 3.0 powestroke f150 with the hd package would be interesting. Slow but good mileage

Hence it will likely last until well past the next ice age.

Not worth it IMHO. Coworker has one with the exact same use case I have (lotta miles, mainly highway unloaded). He gets 22-24 MPG. I get 19.5-21.5 with the 3.5 on cheaper fuel, less complication, more power. Does run down the road nice and has been relatively trouble-free.

I've noticed a lot of used 2016+ f150's started life in Canada. Why is that?
Any thought about getting a 2011 F250 with a 6.2? I'm currently looking for one.
The US market is so strong and F150s can cross the border with minimal or no changes. RAMS can't. I'm not sure about GM products. When we traded in our 2016 I had two dealers competing for the trade because they knew it was a guaranteed sale south of the border.

Option 1.
Budget another $1500 for a tune, an intercooler, and an intake. Cut the muffler and resonator out of the exhaust.
It will be the fastest and most enjoyable vehicle in the fleet.
Dig deep and get 21+ model year.
Have a 2021 F150 XLT 4WD w/ 302a(high package), FX4 with the tow package and the 2.7L.
CV Fab intercooler, 5 Star 93 tow tune, AEM intake. Truck pulls like a freight train unloaded and has ZERO issues with a 5000+lb car + trailer. Dont know what a 20 foot enclosed weighs but with the tow package the Supercrew is rated to 10,000lbs. Spool down low is just nuts with the tune pushing 20+lbs of boost right off the line, full boost by 2300ish RPM and then just keeps going. The 10 speed transmission is bonkers fast once they dial out the skip shift 1-3 and even on the stock tune, the Sport mode is shockingly quick.
In stock form the best mpg i could muster was 21. Once tuned it picked up a full 1mpg same route over the last 1000 miles. Untuned/tuned, it will barely crack 15 with a load behind it. Not bad but not great. And that is on the highway for most of it. If youre towing alot of backroads i assume it would be much worse.
I absolutely love the truck and Ford really knocked it out of the park with the 21+ trucks.

My 3.5 was a 2013, so last generation EB and the heavier all-steel body. The 6.2L is no dog, here a newer F-250 work truck outpulls a 2014 Raptor. The Raptor also has the 6.2, but it' the hot-rodded version with cams and tuned for premium gas.
