So I have not sold the amp and subwoofer or the wheels.  But I did dismantle the spare in an attempt to clean it up.

I think they would, but you would need to fill the valve stem hole and drill a new one on the other side.

Or just leave the existing valve stem in place and add one to what's now the outboard side.

That's a good idea and could work as long as it doesn't interfere with the brakes or suspension.

Flush mount valve seals could take care of that.

Soaking the fasteners in vinegar.  Hopefully it will clean them up a little.

So yesterday evening I listed the 528i for sale as my wife was driving her stint home from our long weekend at a cabin in Gatlinburg TN.

As some of you may have noticed in my corvair thread I am probably going to keep the style 5's.  I mean they look awesome on the Corsa and I now own them so why not...

Anyways that meant I needed a set of wheels for the BMW.  I was torn as to how to handle this given my plan to work towards a Cayman.  I decided the best plan was to buy a set of wheels and any minor things I needed to fix the car and subtract their cost from my sale proceeds.  Is this ideal, no but selling a set of wheels I want for my Corvair to get money to fix the car isn't either.  Either way that's what I did.

I found a set of OEM e39 wheels on craigslist and picked them up for $200.00.

I replaced the shift knob with an OEM style one from Ebay I bought for $15.00.

I bought an intake boot from Ebay for $25.27.

I replaced six spark plugs for $2.99 each.  A cam position sensor cost me $87.99.  

I installed a radio from my old 540i wagon to fill the hole in the dash.  It didn't work because the connector for a 2001 was different than a 1998 but it filled the dash hole.

Those wheels on the Corsa are dead sexy. 

So within minutes of posting the ad I was contacted about the car. 

A guy wanted to look at it today at lunch.  About an hour later a second guy got a hold of me asking if he could look at it.

Today the lunch guy was a no show.  The second guy however showed up after work and took the car for a test drive.  He already had an e36 325i but was looking for something similar to drive daily.  After the test drive he decided to pull the trigger.

He bought it for $2300!  We did the paperwork through my buddies car lot to keep everything legit and so he could get a temporary tag. 

Not to shabby, at this rate I will have the Cayman in no time.

So I sold it for $2300.00.  I paid Brad $200 for letting me do the paperwork through him, and I gave his sales guy $50 for showing the car to the guy for 10 minutes before I got there since he showed up early.

That puts me at $2,050.00.  Subtract $200 for the e39 wheels, $18 for spark plugs, $88 for the cam position sensor, $15 for the shift knob and $25 for the intake boot.  That puts me at $1,704.00. 

I still have five style 5's for the corvair and the subwoofer and amp for my 4runner.

To keep everything fair, shipping the roll bar ran me $43.00 not the $30.00 I charged so subtract the $13.00 difference leaves me $1,691.00 to spend on the next step.

And you are ahead of where I would be by about $2691.  Okay, looking forward to the next project!

Even though that would be helpful to my goal I am going to stick with actual sales to keep it legit.  If I end up with a few extra things in addition to a Cayman I will consider it a bonus!

Buy this for as far under $1k as possible, fix the steering rack and then put in some minor effort like replace the mirror.  Get 4 real hubcaps and just generally do a better job of selling the car than the current owner and this should retail for $2.5k and should bring $1.9k easily.  

If bought for $800 I can't see putting $400 into it = $1,200   Sell for $1.9k is a quick $700

So this afternoon I bought the third item to sell.  It's not a car but it is mostly street legal and if everything works out it will soon have a title.

The seller heard through a friend of a friend that I sell golf carts.  He contacted me last week looking for a six seat limo cart.  I unfortunately have not done one of those yet so I referred him to another local guy who builds them.  He ended up ordering a new one from that guy. 

While we were talking he mentioned that he had an older limo cart that wasn't working correctly.  After I exhausted my ezgo, over the phone trouble shooting skills he said he would get it looked at and would put it up for sale.

After I sold the BMW yesterday I sent the guy a text.  He still had it and wanted to get rid of it before his new one arrived Friday.  I offered him 1500 and he accepted it after thinking it over and discussing it with his wife.

I picked it up this afternoon after work.

It's an unknown year ezgo, limo cart with a lift, and 23 inch tires. Based on the serial number I think it is an 2004 but I need to do some more research to verify.  I used my multimeter and determined that one battery is low.  Granted I have no idea when the cart was last charged so it is humming away as I write this.  I will check the voltage of each battery again in the morning.

I imagine fixed and cleaned that would sell quickly in FL.
