I'm going to hard wire my Garmin Virb Ultra, using a powered waterproof case. No more worrying about batteries.

It comes with a fused 30 foot power cord, with stripped and tinned bare wires on the end.  The options for power that I'm considering are a tap from the fuse box (not many power accessories on this car, so likely easy) or wire it to a car charger plug.

I've looked at a video describing how to tap into a fuse box, but haven't any experience or knowledge about it.

Any suggestions?

Use the blue connector under the hood. It's a vestigal power source for factory fog lights and is switched and fused. A simple spade connector will do it. I'd have to look at a wiring diagram, but you MAY be able to grab a factory fog light switch, plug it in and use it to turn the camera power on and off.
