I want to know where you are finding a set of new snow tires for 200.

I do have a worn set of snows off my old Town Car here, they will get me on the track.

Well, "I" am not.....my winter tires on my WRX are Wintersport M3s....so they're about $200 each. But they're not for rallycross, they're for winter :)

lol, but seriously....several of the e30 and FWD guys locally run Winterforce in 14" sizes and TR has those for $65. I've heard some locals say $50 so that's what I said, not having used them myself nor looked for them. General Altimax Arctic are about the same price as well on TR.
I'm sure there are some Chinese winter tires out there for $50 though. I'm sure they'd last at least 2 events.

Mine were free. I have been volunteering at rallies now for 13 years. A number of teams know that and I was offered a set of Yokohama A035e's for nothing.

depends on the conditions at your local courses. As a general rule for rallycross, narrower is better. But if you run on hard-packed stuff, that may not be the case as much. Wider tires + power = you're just gonna be spinning them in loose stuff.
I can't think of anyone in our MR class running wider than 205s. Most of us are on 185s.

I get all mine from the same guy - I bought my first set from him off CL, and now whenever he has a used set he sends me an email. Convenient since not many stage rally cars run 14" wheels these days (he's in a FWD old Impreza), which is the size I use.

235s here. Only because they don't make wider snow tires.
Wider is more accleration grip, narrower is more cornering grip. I figure to accelerate more than I corner.

I have two sets (well minus the two wheels that escaped the trailer) & both were free to me as well. Had I not lost the two a few weeks ago, I was going to give one set to someone just starting out, like someone did for me. Pass it along...

yeah, again a matter of surfaces. Acceleration grip really isn't an issue for us, except after the water truck comes through and then it's all mud.
This past weekend I ran on some 215/75/15 Wild Country (?) all terrains that I was lucky enoung to score at a swap meet for $80/set. They actually did quite well, the car was a rocket. I also converted the car to Nascar cup style 5/8" studs, double taper 1" lug nuts, and I'm running Basset 15x7 stock car wheels with 3" backspace.
