Some guys don't need a 4X4 truck or a jeep to do a little offroading, they just need a crown vic.

Moab's Hell's Revenge in a Crown Vic

Handles water crossings too

and another little climb

Those videos have to be 5+ years old now. Still crazy though.

That part of Hell's Revenge would work fine on a car with 2WD and no suspension articulation - it's really high grip and level. In fact, the long wheelbase and low CG probably helps because I know the front wheels on my Rover were getting a little light right about there. Same with Baby Lion's Back.

Definitely a local He knew what he was doing.

I remember a guy at an offroad park in indiana wheeling a stock height awd astro van. Not hillbilly rampaging either, but overtaking difficult obstacles with smoothness and finesse. It was beautiful. He even guided us through the easiest way out when i put the front driveshaft of my jeep through tranny pan.

I tagged along with a friend to a trail day with a Jeep club in my old P71 with snow tires mounted up.

Granted, I was taking the "wuss" trails the majority of the time, but I never got stuck once that day.

Offroad drag racing through the large grassy clearing at the end of the day was a memorable highlight.
