I fill gear oil with a pump that I got from a marine dealership. Just a little hand pump, meant for filling the gearcases on outboard motors. Not particularly fast, but for less than ten bucks, you can't complain.

Easy way to seal the leak is two part epoxy. Clean or wire wheel the area as best you can and goop it on just before it hardens. It will peel from the heat of the diff after a few months but its easy to replace again. As long as the oil is cold and not running freely it will do the job.

Ask anyone who's ever had to figure out a way to fill a diff from the bottom without: - Removing it from the car, or... - Drilling a hole in the cover, filling it and plugging the hole with a rubber cork.
been there, did that. When I replaced the trans in my GM900.. I discovered AFTER I installed the transmission that I couldn't really get at the fill point. Thankfully, they had a small plastic "plug" ontop. I rigged an "IV" style fill that took several hours to slowly drain two bottle of gear oil into the transaxle.

I've only been to 2 in the last 3 years. Diff issues with 1G and 4500lbs. Go figure. I might hit the T&T Sunday if I get my wifes protege5 fixed Saturday.
For Fluid transfer, On my car there is enough room to use the fluid bottle with a piece of hose on it. Of course, I have a ti and can also change the diff fluid on the ground. Actually, the E30 should be the same, since the ti uses the e30 rear suspension. The fluid transfer pumps work well, I bought mine at autozone for ~10 bucks
