The show is the dumbing down of America. Watched it once, I have better things to do....

Ok I watched it and it had its moments. I however don't think you did anything to promote "rednecks"

You screwed the pooch for the following reasons.

  1. Disqualifying the RX7 and then bringing in the ringer trans-am. Ya that TA had the OE motor in it. You basically proved that if you can not beet them you disqualify then to save your self from being embarrassed

  2. Having kenny Wallace drive the Trans am was also a bunch of horse E36 M3. Obviously you proved that "real" rednecks can not drive "real" redneck cars. As other have pointed out they sucked at driving. I think it was a lot less about the cars and a lot more about the people you chose to drive them. Lets take the Stig and put him in the RX7 or the Lambo and see if Kenny Wallace would still be standing tall yucking it up.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU F'd UP is disrespecting Ken Squire. What are you thinking? This man is an Icon. This man deserves the respect and courtesy that he gives others. You on the other had all but call him an idiot. I am sorry but this is just poor taste. You ended up looking like the monkey making it with a football. You did exactly what Adam Carolla did and that is insult and disrespect a legend. Get a clue!

I predict that this will go the way of "The Car Show". What is wrong with Speed and the producers of these types of TV shows. I Hope "real" rednecks take a stand as this show actually makes them look really bad.

I was prepared to give the show a chance, but I just watched my first and last episode. Junk TV. 240 HP BMW against the Mustang was "fixing" the race and then pulling out that Year One Firebird was bad enough without a ringer driver. The scripting sucks. I agree on the previous comments about Ken Squire, too. I'd rather watch Pinks , or Pinks All Out than this nonsense, and I'm an ex-roadracer with very little interest in drag racing. At least the Pinks shows are real people and not scripted silliness. Rant over.

I have taken to watching British shows on Netflix and Amazon. Damn my British grandparents,

Meh, I thought it was fun. I set it on the DVR. I really didn't expect to like it, but it was fun.

Y'all are so bent on realism and fairness in reality TV. I suspect you'll find this show much more enjoyable if you'd lighten up and drink more.

BTW, I totally want to be the redneck in a dual engine Ford Escort next season. What better match-up than Lamborghini vs. Lamb-orghini?

You don't have enough carbs to be on the redneck team.

Nor mullets........If there aren't three third gen f-bodies per redneck, they aren't real rednecks anyways....

My diet and haircut can be changed for a shot at being on the TVs.

Do you meet the minimum requirements for third gen f-body ownership?

Also note, of those three, none should run.

No, but I once owned a jacked up 4X4 F150 held together with mud and assorted organic materials, complete with gun rack and NRA sticker. Kinda miss that truck sometimes. I fail on the f-bodies tho.

You can gain an exception since you are from the most redneck major city in our state, but only if you have dropped a less than 3yo 4x4 into a deep hole while mudding when the river is low....that was one of the funniest things I ever saw down there. It took a close second to trying to hit disc golfers on the USI disc golf course with golf balls......

While the show is not a documentary on muscle cars vs imports, its not meant to be. Its a goof, a 30 minute blast around a track with some strange cars in the first episode.

Relax, drink a Scotch and cheer for ....what were we talking about.

another problem I had with it was, they ran the half track instead of full track ... would have LOVED to see the pisspoor redneck drivers trying to take the kink and not end up in the tire wall ...

but then again full track would maybe have killed a few of them .. turn 3 can be/and is rather dangerous

Yeap you guys are taking this way too serious. It is a funny show with real racing mixed in. Chill out, quit trying to re-invent it, just enjoy the fun. For those that think we can not run the big track, sign up for our Detroit Speed Southern Slam there in April and show me how great you are, you will certainly have the chance to put your skills where your mouth is. Come GET YOU SUM!!!

WBJones, all you got to do is come show us. We will be at Kershaw in April. You can race several of the cars you see on the show. You know you are bad, come show us! There will be timing, no excuses. We are ready, how about you?

Forgive me if this was covered but are these open events? Where do I find a schedule? What team is a 2.3 Mustang/Thunderbird on? How about a neon?

I think I saw this at a bar after the truck race Friday night, its better than Setup

Bone Yard, the American Street Car series (dot com) is owned by three of the rednecks and we do shows all over the country, just without the cameras. Our events are not part of the TV show, but the rednecks are the same and we have plenty more to pick from. Check out our website for dates and locations. The one in April is at Carolina motorsports park.

In reply to BillHowell: I understand that you are excited about your show and want it to do well. However, I have a problem with the show. I watched episodes 2 and then 1 because that was the order they were shown on the Speed channel this evening. My suspicion after watching the episode 2 was that the show was not quite fair to the imports but I decided to watch episode 1. When Episode 1 ended with the Lamborgini driver racing against a Nascar driver I was pissed!

I was like, “What the heck was that!?”. Coupled with you host/comedian talking trash made it even worse. One thing that we as Americans want is at least an appearance of fairness. Otherwise, just simply admit that you show is slanted to appeal to a demographic that wants to see muscle cars win, no matter what. Maybe what you should do is find or buy imports and domestic cars of equal price, horsepower, etc., make them road ready and then race them.

Unfortunately, the fact that you never responded to poster 04trailsti who gave some really good examples of the show being biased against the imports does not do you any favors. Poster toyzforme’s comments were also ignored. DRTHVDR also made some good points. Your “Y’all taking this too seriously” argument comes across as an attempt to deflect valid criticism. Again, Kenny Wallace? Really?

I am a Ford man from waaaay back and love talking cars with anyone. Also, I don’t have a problem with you, just the show. Heck, hearing about your ’72 Charger makes me want to have a beer with you just to see your cool car. I know you guys worked hard on the show and had lot’s of fun, but I have to give you my impressions as a viewer.

If the show ends up letting some imports win occasionally that does not let your show off the hook for the first couple of episodes. If the muscle cars win by stacking the deck, don’t let your irritating show host talk trash! Instead, maybe have Ken Squires have the last word. He seems like a cool guy.
