Also the k20 block has stronger and forged pistons, rods, better bearings, basically everything is greatly improved except formthe discplacement. I think the k24 gave cast pistons and thinner rods, lower comp, different bearings.

Not sure about the sleeves, but you're correct about why they're expensive . The good K20 blocks are on the sportier cars (RSX-S, Civic Si, etc) vs the k24 blocks which can be found in the less sporty passenger cars (CR-V, Accord, Element). The motor I am building right now uses a k20z3 head out of the 06 Civic Si and a k24 block out of a CR-V with TSX pistons (higher CR than the other k24's)
Sounds great kaze, i could see a good 220 hp with proper bolt ons, not bad at all for something that didnt cost u an ton of money, and reliable too.. Plus you have alot of room to upgrade.

interesting, right when i was selling my type-s, the new thing to do for the big power guys was to swap to the 5-speed for longer gears and fewer shifts in the 1/4, iirc it was good for two or three tenths.

if you're going to be using k-pro, the K20a2 from the 02-04 rsx-s is the only one that has complete functionality with k-pro, the later (K20z?) ones required using an s2k ecu and harness adapter and even then not everything worked right.
also, the k20a2 stock valvetrain* is supposedly good for 8900 rpm, but the stock intake manifold doesn't let it make much past 8600, which is why the hondata reflash is limited there. with a better intake and valvetrain upgrades, the stock bottom end is ok to nearly 9500.

FWIW, the S2000 only had single valvesprings (in all three motors), and as far as I have heard, the only thing limiting the valvetrain speed is the '00-03 retainers cracking on mechanical overrev. The '04-up retainers are pretty much bulletproof.
Wait a second, did I read "Audi Transaxle" ? Is the back of the car getting a Haldex, or IS this thing the rear end?

Purpose is to run the K20/24 hybrid in a 1969 Lotus Europa. Should be quite fast with how light the car is.

All you have to do is transfer the sensors from the k20a2 and the engine harness to whatever motor you will be using. Then it'll work with K-Pro just fine. I'm not running the stock k20a2 manifold, I'm using the RBC manifold. My old K20a2 motor had stg2 cams, upgraded valvetrain, and full bolt-ons.
