I don't have any pics of it. But I believe it came off an old machine called a pan and was used to run it's auxiliary lighting. The Magneto is weak and currently it has to be supplied voltage by a 12v battery. Any idea of where he could have the magnets remagnetized to get a strong spark? He's not looking to break the bank, but is 78 and likes to tinker. It was given to him and is maybe from the 40's or 50's. I'll snap a few pics of it later today. The I pistons were stuck and the valves were also seized, I'm frankly amazed when I came by one day and he showed me it ran!

I would be surprised if you couldn't order a replacement part for the thing.

Luminaltech said: Magnets that have lost their strength Sometimes you can recharge a magnet that has lost some of its original charge. If you can find a very strong magnet, repeatedly rub it across your weakened magnet. The strong magnet will realign the magnetic domains inside the weakened magnet

I thought there was a process where you hook up a battery to the generator and it causes the magnets to remagnitize. Also check the brushes and slip ring if it has them.
