I don't have pictures, and I don't want to post more details yet (even though it wasn't my fault), but the car is totaled. I haz a sad...I went all the way to Kansas for this car. It was a hardtop.

Agreed. I was absolutely gutted when my buddy crashed my grey market E28 into a suicidal deer but he walked away and that's the important part. Chin up, you're alive to build another car.
I'm fine. The hit was hard enough to set off the airbag, so that scraped up my right arm. And it's the damnedest thing, but my knee hit the dash hard enough to melt plastic into my pant leg. I'll be sore in the morning.
There was a minor injury in the Explorer, but that was it.
"cars are just things" What the...??? I don't even know who you people are anymore. It's always nice when everyone gets to walk away, or even maybe limp a little.
ok... my Malibu came out a lot better from it's explorer moment than your MR2 did.
I think you are very lucky to just be sore
Well the engine should still be completely intact from the looks of it. Was it the turbo version? Might be able to salvage it and do something fun with it. I dunno, I'm just looking for silver linings I guess. Glad you're ok. Could have been much worse!
good point.. one of the unexpected bonuses of a mid-engine car.. it takes a serious wreck to destroy the drivetrain. Yank it and find another MR2?
It was the NA version. Believe me, the engine isn't worth saving. The hardtop tub was the best part about the car.
In reply to Kenny_McCormic:
Not something I'm interested in doing, but assuming the insurance company totals it, I might buy it back to part out.
Dude, that fared surprisingly well. That tub looks fixable! The a-pillars are still super straight, and so are the doors and door to quarter seams. Glad you walked away!
(Also, why is it always an Exploder?!?)
I feel like the only MR2 owner on these boards who doesn't have a story of one getting murdered.
Granted, I've had mine for less than a month, but still.
Glad you're OK, survive to build another car.
Another MR2 or... or what?

I'm not sure yet. I may not replace it at all, since I already had too many cars. But I admit I have been checking CL for possibilities. So far my brain is all over the place, and my search has ranged from MR-Ss to Lincoln Towncars.
