I was all for trading the civic away until i saw the civic. That civic is worth WAY more than that el camino. This is now a dumb trade. Sorry.

I'd have to agree with this...
why not just buy the elcamino outright (throw 1200 at him), then sell the Civic outright. Pocket the $$.
I have it in my head that I'll never, ever, get more than $1500 for an EG Civic. Unless it has some sort of B-series swap with at turbo and zebra covered headliner and some "stance, poke, bro" stickers on it

Drive that thing up North and profit. You'll be able to get $3K out if it.
i only read the first page...
what does the word "redneck" have to do with "El Camino"... would you use that same word if it was an imported compact pickup truck of similar size?
around here rednecks are not cool enough to drive el caminos. they all get sweet drivetrains and nice wheels and paint and the cool guys drive them. rednecks drive lifted fullsize trucks, mostly fords and dodges.
i'd trade the civic in a heartbeat but i could care less about them, to me it looks like a $500 faded paint work beater with some fast and furious seats and wheels worth more than the rest of the car.

I also agree. That Civic looks too nice to trade straight up for the Camino. Maybe a trade plus some cash from him would be better? I'm all for the trade, just make sure you're not getting the short end of the stick.
