It got cold recently. Like double digits below zero cold, and as such my tires on the mazdaspeed3 which I had aired up when it was 40-50 degrees were a little sad. I gave them some air, and went on my way.

Warmed back up and my TPMS light turned on.  With the "warm" weather the pressure picks up quite a bit, particularly in the afternoon, so the pressures fluctuate a lot. Do the sensors go off when the pressure gets too high as well? They're pretty close to spot on in the morning, but 30+degree temp swings + driving on them bumps up the pressure pretty good in the afternoon. They're not high enough I'm concerned, but don't know much about TPMS and was wondering if triggering on a "too high" was even a thing.

Yes, reporting a pressure that's too high is one of the things TPMS does.
