2004R with a manual valve body?
Light, can be built to take a beating, 4-speeds.
TH350, reverse manual valvebody, ratchet shifter.

You can get shifters that convert a T56 to sequential - like this.
Get the gears faced and it will basically shift like a proper sequential with just a slight lift of the throttle. A coworker has one in his Miata.
Could not resist clicking on that, even though I sold the car with the T56 I had a dozen un-fulfilled projects planed for! Way cool shifter and looks like great quality stuff. Sticker shock really hurt my feelings, but I guess its my fault I'm broke, and not theirs.
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
A TH 400, just plug the right holes in the valve body with a couple of lead sinkers.
push the the lever forward to upshift pull it down to down shift. It's been done since the 1970's.

I dunno, if you bought it maybe it would be their fault ;)
